Vantage Tapped to Provide MMS Instrument Thermal Blankets

Vantage Systems Inc. has been tasked to provide thermal blanket fabrication and integration for the instruments onboard the Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS).  MMS is a Solar Terrestrial Probes mission comprising four identically instrumented spacecraft that will use Earth's magnetosphere as a laboratory to study the microphysics of three fundamental plasma processes: magnetic reconnection, energetic particle acceleration, and turbulence.  Vantage Systems will fabricate thermal blankets and related equipment for most of the instruments and will support integration of them onto the spacecraft which is scheduled for launch in 2014.  “Vantage is pleased to provide this additional support to the MMS mission at Goddard Space Flight Center.  We have supported the program in many ways since its start.  We are proud to be part of the NASA MMS team” said Joe Polk, President of Vantage Systems Inc..  “This task has near and long term deliverables with narrow installation windows that are in the critical path for integration.  We are honored that Goddard trusts us with this task” said Mike Fatig, Senior Vice President of Business Development.
